About this opportunity
The Buying and Planning Intern will act as a key member of the Supply Chain team by providing support to the Buying / Planning teams. The Buying and Planning Intern will act as a key member of the Supply Chain team by providing support to the Buying / Planning teams.
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of Supply Chain strategies
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint, or Google Suite skills
- Knowledge of basic computer applications and the ability to learn and use multiple applications specific to this department, including ERP tools
- Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
- Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines
- Ability to evaluate, prioritize, and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers
Activities
- Redeploying Celestica’s inventory through negotiating pricing and sales, i.e. E&O Deployment
- Working with suppliers to negotiate VMI and RLT programs
- Work to reduce DOS on key components, which in turn will help with reducing overall inventory
- Collaborating with internal IT team to develop customer requested reports
- Work on customer data feeds, ad hoc
- Mitigate supply chain risk by running BOM risk analysis reports
- Setting up external Hubs, working with internal teams to coordinate, ad hoc
- Quarterly freight and hub management
- Data analysis
- Processing rapid reports from Supply Chain Directors, ad hoc
Physical Demands
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required
