In this leadership role, you will enhance RBC’s brand and reputation as a global thought leader by driving effective integration and delivery of RBC’s positioning on key issues that impact business and society. Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Ability to build, measure and retain external audiences, through a variety of RBC and non-RBC channels
  • Effective integration of Subject Matter Expertise (SME) that brings forth RBC’s perspectives on key issues
  • Help the Office of the CEO convene and inform national conversations on pressing economic and societal issues, with a focus on innovation, diversity and sustainable economic growth
  • Develop and help execute digital strategies to disseminate economics research
  • Work with RBC Brand and Marketing, and RBC citizenship, as well lines of business, to inform and amplify the company’s position on key public issues

What will you do?

  • Encourage and secure senior leadership support and the business/functional expert SME capacity for agile thought leadership teams; providing strategic advice as it relates to sourcing, building, gathering and disseminating insights from the vast knowledge and expertise within RBC as well as external think tanks
  • Orchestrate and manage the successful production and end-to-end execution of a highly integrated thought leadership plan on behalf of the Office of the CEO that is externally fed through various multimedia channels and other means of communication
  • Ensure the alignment of all efforts from the business platforms and functions by means of integration, influence and buy-in from executives/senior leaders/business functional leaders
  • Oversee the production to ensure appropriate internal and/or external channels are ready/able to publish thought leadership deliverables such as electronic publications and daily regular distribution of insights
  • Act as the key liaison with internal stakeholders, external resource groups, Senior Leaders and SME on publication initiatives and deliverables
  • Work with external organizations, including, think tanks, to develop and disseminate groundbreaking research
  • Lead and develop the editorial team (editor/writer, social media editor, researchers)
  • Help position RBC’s leadership at key public forums, in Canada and abroad

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 10+ years of experience in a content strategy integration role or advisor in the marketing strategy, communications, publishing or production space
  • Exceptional writing and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to synthesize information, see issues from a variety of perspectives, develop an action plan and execute to completion in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong track record of leading and executing deliverables through multiple communication channels
  • Strategic and agile combined with the ability to navigate through a large, complex and matrixed organization

Nice-to-have

  • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications and/or Advertising
  • Previous experience in a large, global leading Financial Institution or consulting firm
  • Campaign/events experience
  • Strong planning and project management capabilities
