We have a highly skilled and experienced workforce which obtains environmental approvals and provides construction support for lines and stations projects and operations. Our team is committed to protecting the environment and striving for continual improvement in our environmental management system and performance.General Accountabilities:Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting Climate Change Mitigation Program Goals, which includes a net-zero target by 2050.Manage the data collection and quantification of Hydro One’s Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory, including Scope 1, Scope 2, Avoided Emissions, and key performance indicators with a focus on enhancing data completeness and accuracy; familiarity with Scope 3 emissions categories is considered an asset.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support existing and the development of additional mitigation initiatives, estimating potential emission reductions, and modelling of GHG emission projections.Partner with Lines of Businesses on the identification, tracking and reporting of environmental metricsCoordinate with Environmental Planners and external stakeholders on the tracking, estimation, and quantification of nature-based climate solutions and GHG emissions of projects.Provide subject matter expertise, analytical support, and identify opportunities for improvement regarding carbon accountingIdentify methods for collecting and creating of studies about co-benefits of nature-based climate solutionsPrepare reports, templates, documentation, and presentation materials related to Hydro One’s GHG Inventory and progress toward GHG targets, supporting quarterly executive updates, sustainability disclosures, and external reporting requirements.Drive continuous improvement for carbon accounting to support alignment with industry best practices, which may include working with vendors in data automation.Stay informed of evolving sustainability disclosure and regulatory reporting frameworks impacting the electric utility industry.Perform other duties as required.Selection Criteria:Essential Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:Four-year University degree is required. Preferably related to Business, Accounting, Finance, Environmental Studies/Sciences, Climate Change, and/or Engineering.Knowledge and experience in Ontario and Canada Greenhouse Gas Regulations, ISO 14064, the GHG Protocol and Industry best practices on carbon accounting.Familiarity with National Pollutant Release Inventory, Blue Box, Energy & Water Reporting and Benchmarking (EWRB) reportingUp to four to six years of relevant work experience in business analytics.Keen interest in climate change management greenhouse gas reduction and tracking.Direct experience with greenhouse gas reporting preferred.Relevant experience with Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) Reporting (i.e. GRI, SASB, CSDS, CDP)Experience managing and quantifying a corporate GHG Inventory with GHG emissions forecasting preferred.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, for preparation, editing and presentation of standards, procedures, and in dealing with both professional contacts and the general public. This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired either through the successful completion of a four year University education in an appropriate field or by having the equivalent level of education.Strong analytical and mathematical ability with attention to detail.Confident decision maker and self-starter is able to work independently and use sound judgment to manage competing priorities effectively.Ability to work under pressure with tight timelines on multiple projects with strong communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision with a high level of initiative and problem solving.Require overnight absences from home from time to time for site visits and meetings, and may require travel throughout Ontario.Ability to independently travel to local or remote sites, communicate with stakeholders and evaluate situation and develop/implement mitigation plansValid Ontario Driver’s License.Requires strong working knowledge of SAP, SharePoint, Teams and MS Office (Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote) and GHG accounting software.Flexibility and adaptability regarding changes to the work.Home Location and Travel Expectations:You will be expected to work full-time (7 hours a day), with 2 days hybrid at Hydro One head office, TorontoThis position requires some on road travelAt Hydro One we understand that the success and strength of our business rests with our people.
