The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Risk department with standardized reporting and ad-hoc analysis, while working to automate existing analytic and data processes. They will also be responsible for documenting department procedures and ensuring that all reporting conforms to internal guidelines.Duties and Responsibilities:1. Risk Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare recurring reporting for all areas of the Risk department
- Seek out ways to enhance, consolidate, and streamline existing reports
- Determine ways to automate data extraction and reporting processes
- Support the management of Risk Control Committee process, including planning monthly meetings, and preparing presentation materials
- Liaise with members of other departments to understand drivers of fluctuations in key Risk metrics
- Evaluate and reconcile data to ensure data integrity
2. Policy & Procedure Documentation
- Prepare inventory of existing SAS codes, SQL queries, and Excel spreadsheets that are used to produce Risk reports
- Document detailed procedures, content descriptions, and chronology for each report prepared by the Risk department
- Review shared file structure and work with Risk colleagues to organize/improve the existing folder hierarchy
3. Other project-based tasks
- Provide analytical support on special projects or assignments as required
QualificationsWork ExperiencePrior experience in a corporate environment preferred but not requiredEducation / Certification / TrainingPursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related quantitative experienceKnowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially MS Excel
- Experience with SAS, SQL, and/or relational database concepts is an asset
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Ability to understand business objectives and their relationship to the importance of individual projects
