What will your typical day look like?

As a Digital Marketing Specialist within Deloitte’s Digital Marketing team, you’ll work closely with other developers and marketers in support of Deloitte Canada’s businesses, with a focus on Ecosystems & Alliances. You will collaborate with digital marketing teammates to learn the technology for content management, email, events and registrations, social media, data/CRM and apply the learnings by delivering digital experiences. You’ll work within an agency environment, collaboratively with other marketing functions (creative/design, marketing analytics, public relations, brand and internal communications) to plan and execute marketing campaigns in support of the business needs.


About the team

The digital marketing team is part of the Marketing Technology function as Deloitte. The team also sits within our internal agency, with public relations, brand, campaign management and internal communications – working together with field marketing and the business. The digital team is very collaborative and supportive, playing an integral role in marketing communications.


Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone with:

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a web developer/designer, registration management with an interest in online marketing, social media and mobile
  • Strong coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), mostly front-end programming with some back-end integration knowledge. Experience with Adobe Experience Manager or other enterprise CMS),
  • Marketing general digital knowledge across Email marketing tools (Eloqua, Marketo, Pardot, Boostrap) or event registration tools (Cvent, Attendease, Certain, Splash) or Adobe products (Analytics, Audience Manager, Target) or Social Media tools (Sprinklr, Sysomos)
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or undergraduate studies in programming, or equivalent experience, working within agency environment an asset
  • Solid understanding of UX design, working with brand guidelines, layout and design standards
  • Strong communicator and problem solver who is organized and can provide digital strategy consulting and best practices to a business audience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and familiarity with integrating various technologies to support marketing efforts

Position: A marketing manager oversees all marketing aspects of the ALPHASHINE brand and its day-to-day marketing activities. A marketing manager will often operate with numerous other staff to execute an accurate and effective marketing strategy. Tracking performance and overall marketing budget will be an integral part of the marketing manager’s role.

Work Requirements:

Team Management

1. Oversee Marketing Team’s Operations

  • Delegate work to the marketing team
  • Maintain project timelines and delegation of work
  • Train new and current employees to perform required service tasks in line with ALPHASHINE brand and marketing strategy
  • Delegate work and foster new assignments for marketing associates to complete
  • Perform performance reviews with each associate and provide feedback for personal development

  • align high-level brand strategy and marketing projects with overall company direction
  • Develop sales strategies for B2B, B2C & Memberships
  • Develop marketing budget and sales strategies for Q1-Q4 that all align with the company financial and sales requirements

Marketing & Brand Development

1. Brand Development

  • Grow company brand across Toronto and abroad
  • Assist in facilitating new strategies for future cities (NYC, Miami, Chicago)

2. Marketing Development

  • Improve customer retention and conversion via (email, social media, digital, ads, SEO)

3. Analytics and Data Mining

  • Track customer statistics (behavior, age, demographics, usage, CLV)
  • Track ad spend and staff budget while allocating accordingly for optimal output and performance

  • College Degree
  • 3 years of marketing experience
  • 2 years of leadership and management experience
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment

Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

This role focuses on personalized solutions to create relevant, targeted experience for our clients as they engage with our websites and mobile apps – based on continuous experiments. The Optimization Analyst will be accountable for recommending, influencing, and implementing digital channel personalization & testing opportunities based on data driven insights. As a subject matter expert, you will work in an agile environment with a cross-functional team to support marketing campaign sprint cycles with the focus on achieving key performance targets. You’ll track your work after launch with an iterative test, learn and optimize approach and continue to bring forward emerging machine learning trends and recommended tactics.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Customer Centric – You will be responsible for understanding key customer journeys and segments across digital channels to provide recommendations on how to optimize the customer experience and drive sales.
  • Analytical Thinking – You are comfortable pulling analytics from data visualization platforms. You will be accountable for providing ongoing and final campaign test reports to key stakeholders, and maintaining a test library.
  • Technical Expertise: You have a working knowledge of marketing optimization tools and are proficient in using them to drive owned onsite digital campaign performance.

Imagine you’re a high end professional that decides to move to another country to learn a new language and start your career again… This situation is faced by many immigrants in Canada who have immigrated for the College experience.
However, the first concern is – “how can I find a job?”. The market holds many sources for it but for a high-end professional, then Linkedin is so far the best way to get a chance to get hired in your field. But how can we make our profile stand out in the market? That’s the main goal for most of us and I got a great opportunity to interview a recruiter in Canada with more than 10 years of experience hiring people across Canada.
His name is Mr. James Machado who kindly shared with me some perspectives of job seekers and also provided points of view from recruiters. Something that I could say in advance is that I learned so much from Mr. Machado about how recruiters are facing some situations from job seekers. Let’s take a look at all the points of the interview and get to a conclusion.
1. As a recruiter, what do you look for in a candidate’s Linkedin profile?
“First thing is the experience and then other things. Depends on the market the candidate is looking for. So, target your profile for the market and the position you’re looking for and ensure that the work experience is related to the job position.”
2. When a candidate is from another country, what would you like to see in their Linkedin profile?
“It’s very important that they are looking for a specific job they target. Don’t do a “universal” resume like a generic CV. Make sure your CV appeals to that specific position and do it by bullet points.”
3. Is it important to show some numbers or achievements?
“Depends on the position and how you are going to sell yourself, but it’s very important! If you’re looking for an accounting position you should show some numbers to explain what you can do. If you’re an architect, show your projects. For a web designer, it’s very important to show one’s portfolio that has been developed.”
4. Is it important to match all skills to the position or can you choose a candidate with fewer skills?
“The skillset is very important and also the way that you show the skills. You can show your skills using KEYWORDS. If you have delivered exceptional customer service, customer service keyword must be there. If you work with a specific program as AUTOCAD, the keyword must be there as a keyword and also some projects as an example.”
5. About resume and cover letter, what can we do to make our profiles stand out to recruiters?
“As a recruiter, we look for someone very personalized. It means personalized yourself and experience to match that job and requirements for that job. If you are serious about your job search: First, you have to study that field; Second, you have to know what the company is looking for; Third, read the job requirements properly.”
6. As a recruiter, what kind of tips could you give?
“You should go back to the basics! First part: Be on time, be well presented to the interview, and make sure that your deadlines are met. Last part: Be charismatic, engage in the conversation, don’t be too long, get to the point, and wait for the right time to talk.”
Never give too much and never talk too much either, just give enough.
