Music & Live Events
The LIVE team internship experience is the perfect opportunity for passionate music-lovers to gain a wide range of skills and exposure across various functions in the department. Starting with the LIVE Partnerships team, you will support our Live Nation partnerships from sales, to execution, to reporting and deal renewal. You’ll gain exposure and experience organizing brand activations at venues, negotiating artist brand partnerships, brainstorming for social and digital campaigns, developing sales pitches, building client relationships and more.
With the LIVE venue marketing team, you will have the opportunity to flex your creative muscles in a wide variety of scenarios. Whether it is ideating and executing on artist gift ideas or building marketing campaigns for the performers coming to our venues. Finally, with the LIVE events team you’ll have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in planning and executing small to large scale internal events at Scotiabank Arena while learning how to communicate to large audiences and individual department representatives efficiently and effectively. Job Description
As a Summer Intern and Indigenous (First Nations/Metis/Inuit) community member, you will have the opportunity to share your whole self, including your lived experience and transferable skills, by working with and learning directly from our teams in selected business areas including Marketing, Communications, as well as Music and LIVE events. We will work with you in developing and enhancing your skillset, and our formal Internship Program will enable opportunities to network with other students, community members and industry leaders through social events, speaker series and formal learning programs.
To ensure you get the most from your experience, we are providing the opportunity for you to select your preferred department. Below you will find more information about the work that we do within each of these areas, to help guide your selection. Through the interview process, we will discuss this in more detail, to help inform your decision and optimize your internship experience with us.

Marketing & Communications
Our award-winning Marketing & Communications team connects our brands to fans inside the arena and across the globe. This team can be credited for the development of the “We The North” marketing position, a Champions Parade that drew 3.5. million fans, House of Hockey presented by Tim Hortons – a dynamic new Maple Leafs youth engagement program, live in-game experiences for Raptors, Leafs, TFC and Argos, community programming that supports well over 100,000 youth through sport and so much more.
This talented group is made up of Brand Marketing; Corporate Communications; Community Engagement & Social Impact (including MLSE Foundation and MLSE LaunchPad); Marketing Operations; Retail Operations; Event Experience; Commercial Creative + Strategy; Creative Services; Game Presentation; and Live Broadcast. Each of these departments presents a unique opportunity to develop your skills and experience in the field. To ensure your internship meets expectations, we’ll work with you to curate a unique opportunity aligned with the experiences that you feel will be most impactful to your development.
Music & Live Events
The LIVE team internship experience is the perfect opportunity for passionate music-lovers to gain a wide range of skills and exposure across various functions in the department. Starting with the LIVE Partnerships team, you will support our Live Nation partnerships from sales, to execution, to reporting and deal renewal. You’ll gain exposure and experience organizing brand activations at venues, negotiating artist brand partnerships, brainstorming for social and digital campaigns, developing sales pitches, building client relationships and more.
With the LIVE venue marketing team, you will have the opportunity to flex your creative muscles in a wide variety of scenarios. Whether it is ideating and executing on artist gift ideas or building marketing campaigns for the performers coming to our venues. Finally, with the LIVE events team you’ll have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in planning and executing small to large scale internal events at Scotiabank Arena while learning how to communicate to large audiences and individual department representatives efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for a variety of programs and events and instrumental in overseeing the smooth and efficient delivery of various events at Scotiabank Arena.
MLSE’s Internship term dates are from May 6th, 2024 to August 30th, 2024
Qualifications

- Indigenous First Nations/Metis/Inuit student currently enrolled in post-secondary education.
- Strong communicator with established interpersonal skills who can effectively connect, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external parties in a courteous, and effective manner.
- Eagerness to learn more about the sports and entertainment industry.
- Basic understanding of the selected department’s function (Marketing, Communications and Music and Live events).
- Self-starter who works independently in a dynamic work environment through strong administration, organizational, planning and time management skills.
