Who knows where our shared journey will take you?About Emerging Transportation Platform (ETP) Managed ServicesSiemens’ Emerging Transportation Platform (ETP) is an incubated start-up within Smart Infrastructure CTO Office and is building the next level of managed services to support logistics, fleet companies and bus operators as they transition and manage their battery electric fleet operations.ETP offers a range of solutions from pure managed services on existing charging infrastructure & fleets to charging as a service, taking complete ownership and control of the deployment and operation of a customer’s charging infrastructure. This includes scheduling of the vehicles, the cloud platform, and the utility meter – in order to provide the highest availability and resilience in the market. Our objective is to accelerate the adoption of electric-powered fleets by optimizing the delivery of power and making refueling seamless and efficient. By offering additional services such as energy management and specific fleet services, we are working to support customer transition with the lowest cost of electric fueling possible.What is this opportunity?We are looking for a Global Portfolio Manager, Emerging Transportation Platform (ETP) to develop Managed Services.In your new role you are part of the global team for the development, sale, and realization of new, comprehensive service-based business models within the electrical fleet transportation business.Location: This is a REMOTE positionWhat will you do?
- Identify, and qualify the AC and DC charging portfolio as well as other standardizable hardware products and systems required to provide our services in North America. You will also directly engage with these potential partners in developing a robust technical, product and business relationship with them as needed.
- Identify, qualify and curate adjacent software partner relationships required to enhance our services in North America and globally. You will also directly engage with these potential partners in developing a robust technical, product and business relationship with them as needed.
- Gather the needed market- and customer requirements and own the product and technology requirement specification.
- Take the lead in defining the right hardware portfolio derived from our customer use cases and applications e.g. long-haul transport, last mile applications, regional transport, and utility services with their respective needs for charging.
- In the spirit of picking up a screwdriver yourself, you will be tasked with testing charging and other hardware on your own and/or jointly with colleagues from R&D and project support, along with other internal and external test resources.
- Partners are essential to develop further our service and underlying hardware portfolio – you identify and manage defined strategic partnerships with established and new players in the logistic and road-based transportation market.
- You actively seek information about the market & technology developments, participate in conferences & customer meetings, and ultimately assist Siemens to reach and maintain a market leading position for electrified transportation services.
What will you need to succeed?
- Bachelors degree or higher as Electrical Engineer or Industrial Engineer, alternatively business administration with proven execution and insights into technical business areas.
- 5+ years proven experience in the charging infrastructure market and with commercial fleets, ideally within an organization offering managed services for EV fleet, or installing and operating charging infrastructure or related industry is essential.
- Experience within portfolio management.
- Good understanding of business modelling and setting up of business cases.
- The ability to initiate and maintain relationships, in addition to presenting to partners, customers and internal stakeholders; impact and influence skills.
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to communicate with customer’s and internal stakeholders effectively.
- Travel – While Siemens is offering working from home or hybrid job positions, travelling will be required to participate in (international) fairs, conferences, trade shows, customer events etc. (approx. 20%-30%).
Preferred:
- You have worked in international corporations in US or Canada and ideally abroad
