Are you a passionate nonprofit leader looking for your next opportunity? TVO is seeking a Manager Annual Giving to join our mission-driven, social impact charity.

As our Annual Giving Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing activities to increase, diversify and sustain support from individuals, and to increase the pipeline of donors through our marketing and channel optimization efforts. The Annual Giving Manager contributes to meeting fundraising goals and developing strategies to cultivate and steward donor relationships to create opportunities to give throughout the year, and across our channels.

A key member of the philanthropy team, and part of the larger Impact Team which includes Communications and Marketing, the Annual Giving Manager will:

  • Develop, coordinate and work with the philanthropy team to implement multi-channel annual and monthly giving programs.
  • Manage and grow direct response fundraising campaigns working closely with the pan-organizational programs teams on content development, communications, and marketing.
  • Work with the audience development team to manage donor acquisition along the engagement pipeline.

The Manager, Annual Giving is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring TVO’s fundraising strategy towards the achievement of the annual giving financial goals. Key areas of success include ensuring the implementation of donor-centered fundraising programs that will drive growth, build a strong donor pipeline, deepen donor relationships, and optimize stewardship. These efforts are done cross collaboratively with other key stakeholders within the Impact division and across the organization.

How you will make an impact

  • Ensure a best-in-class donor journey for all annual donors.
  • Plan, oversee, and lead the operation, execution, and administration of all direct response initiatives (direct mail, telemarketing, leadership giving, etc.) including budgeting, monitoring, and working cross functionality with data analytics and audience development to increase engagement of new donors through our digital channels.
  • Manage relationships and monitor and evaluate the service delivery of the selected telemarketing agencies.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Team to enhance and grow digital and online fundraising.
  • Lead the strategic development and implementation of annual direct response fundraising strategies and plans.
  • Ensure industry best practices in the management, administration, and implementation of the annual giving programs.
  • Identify and assess situations that may affect TVO’s ability to achieve its annual financial goals.
  • In collaboration with the team, develop and manage Mid-Level program and pipeline, including identification of prospects and creation of cultivation, stewardship and recognition events and initiatives.
  • Develop and manage best practices stewardship for one-time gift and monthly donors within the Annual Program and coordinate with Leadership Giving Program
  • Work with internal stakeholders to analyze donor database and recommend steps to enhance TVO’s ability to mine data more effectively for enhanced donor relations and revenue.
  • Use creative digital media strategies to maximize fundraising results.
  • Collaborate with IT for oversight of all Philanthropy systems and databases, ensuring accuracy of information, timeliness of processing work, and observation of industry best practices.
  • Ensure all vendor and supplier agreements meet TVO’s corporate and legal requirements
  • Provide day to day supervision to reporting staff, ensuring overall work accuracy and quality.

What you will bring to TVO

  • 3 – 5 years previous experience with fundraising and donor stewardship
  • University undergraduate / post-secondary degree required; in business communications, sales and marketing, or related field would be an asset.
  • CFRE designation or working towards is preferred.
  • Three+ years managing a diverse direct response program in the non-profit sector.
  • Thorough understanding of all components of direct response fundraising and database management.
  • Experience managing or working in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
  • Results oriented, with a proven track record of delivering on goals, and achieving revenue targets.
  • Successful track record in managing an integrated multi-channel annual giving experience.
  • A self-starter who knows how to seek out alliances and resources to develop revenue opportunities.
  • Ability to plan, execute and analyze strategies within a designated timeframe.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and work with a wide range of individuals through a variety of mediums.
