Job description: Job Description:What will you do?Engineering Intern will perform all or some of the following tasks:
- Perform routine engineering-related tasks revolving around low and medium voltage equipment design under the direct guidance of a Lead Engineer and/or Designer.
- Use computer-assisted engineering software such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, CREO, or Inventor and other tools to perform engineering tasks such as creating drawings, bill of materials, models,…
- Collect and analyze data using company software such as MRP/ERP systems, and assist with data analysis and migration to SAP.
- Prepare data for presentation and evaluation for Engineering staff and Management Team using Microsoft Excel, Access, or Tableau.
- Provide support to engineering, production, or manufacturing staff as needed.
- Assist with new systems and tool implementation activities currently being rolled out across Schneider Electric.
- Prepare Product Installations and Operations Manuals.
- Assist with the maintenance of project and install-base files and preparation of technical documents.
- Attend and contribute to monthly Safety Meetings, demonstrating a strong understanding of the material discussed.
- Review and process shop drawings under the guidance of a Lead Engineer and/or Designer.
- Assist in the maintenance of all plant equipment and facilities to ensure the plant remains in good operating order, consistent with standards and government regulations.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Minimum completion of the 2nd year of university, specializing in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering program.
- Enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, communication (both written and verbal), and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively interface at all levels of personnel and management.
- Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to self-motivate and work productively both with and without supervision.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and CREO 6.
- Ability to write technical documents (manuals, white papers, etc.).
- Self-motivated individual.
- Ability to identify and solve a broad range of problems using an analytical approach and out-of-the-box thinking.
