The Marketing Campaign Manager is a high impact member of the Intelex marketing team responsible for designing, implementing, and managing awareness, consideration and preference/intent demand gen initiatives to successfully drive brand engagement – generating lots of leads, and ultimately pipeline/revenue. If you are the person for this role, you have experience building integrated campaigns designed to engage prospects throughout the buyer journey from awareness to purchase by applying compelling storytelling and delivering programs that drive pipeline, pipeline, and more pipeline.

This role sits within the Marketing department, reporting to the Director, Demand Generation.


Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Drive innovative programs that stand out in the B2B EHSQ (Environment/ESG, Health & Safety and Quality) marketplace with laser focus on driving quality leads that generate a steady flow into the pipeline
  • Manage multiple campaigns at once, while keeping all of your stakeholders updated and informed
  • Work hand-in-hand with sales, product marketing, digital marketing, and the content team to create alignment and gather requirements to build marketing campaign plans to support pipeline targets
  • Develop multi-channel integrated campaigns including 3rd party programs, field or virtual events, vertical programs, webinars, etc.
  • Facilitate marketing campaign prioritization in collaboration with internal stakeholders, and develop a consistent planning and campaign management process.
  • Maintain and communicate a calendar of demand generation programs to provide transparency for and create alignment with key stakeholders
  • Closely align with sales to communicate demand gen goals and tactics to measure lead quality and track marketing’s contribution to pipeline
  • Work with Product Marketing to accurately target personas, bringing the right message to market to drive brand and engagement
  • Manage day-to-day communication with extended marketing team to drive projects to completion, following up with post mortem results on an ongoing basis
  • Keep abreast of the daily pacing and performance of your campaigns and make data-driven decisions to optimize campaign effectiveness and meet expected KPIs
  • Track and scrutinize pipeline sources from your marketing campaigns from lead creation to revenue and analyze information to improve decision making
  • Improve results through continuous testing and refinement strategies
  • Track the ROI on campaigns to make informed recommendations for future initiatives/planning
  • Manage vendor / third party relationships

Required

  • Understanding of demand gen best practices, including mapping programs to the prospect and customer journey
  • Solid background in lead and demand generation, and full-funnel marketing – inbound marketing, search engine marketing, content marketing and analytics
  • Firm understanding of lead and demand gen tactics across marketing channels
  • Strong storytelling with exceptional writing capabilities to create compelling copy for e-mails, landing pages, and other communication vehicles
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a proven ability to handle multiple projects and multiple stakeholders
  • Technical skills and understanding of the pieces that make up a successful demand gen campaigns and how that process is executed
  • Ability to manage and prioritize projects, budgets, continuously problem solve, and be highly accountable while focused on results
  • Highly organized and have a strong, yet flexible personality to keep everything on track for ongoing success
  • Team player who can think big picture but still able to focus on the details

Preferred

  • Experience in the Environmental/ESG, Health & Safety and Quality is not required but is a huge asset
  • Love data, and being driven by the numbers to do bigger and better
  • Knowledge of writing styles and content that is appropriate for both print and digital applications.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in understanding Intelex’s business needs

Technical Competencies

  • Strong expertise working with Pardot/Marketo, Salesforce, and Asana (or other similar project management tool)

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in demand generation /campaign marketing with solid project/campaign experience
  • Demand generation experience in cloud-based B2B enterprise software (SaaS) is preferred
  • Experience in the Environmental/ESG, Health & Safety and Quality is an asset

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing is preferred

PROFILE

Marketing Operations (MO) includes a variety of functions that form the backbone of aligning and optimizing people, processes and technology. It enables business development and marketing (BDM) to operate efficiently, effectively and in an agile manner with quality and consistency.

As a new position for Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP, the MO role will be accountable for the marketing operations team of about 20 people representing the communications, digital, design, translation and business intelligence areas. They will be accountable for accelerating and optimizing marketing operations and driving operational excellence in the areas of BDM governance, integration, standardization, automation and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have proven leadership abilities, a solid track record of building relationships, providing proactive and responsive solutions to business needs, harnessing technology and innovation to improve efficiency and a client focused mindset.

This role will be required to work remotely until such time as access to our offices is permitted. Once access is permitted, this role can be based in the following Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP offices: Calgary, Hamilton, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver and Waterloo.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with the Director of BDM and key stakeholders, lead the development of the vision, strategy and plan for marketing operations guided by our brand and aligned to our Firm’s Strategic Plan and business objectives; implement the plan, assess its progress and adjust as required.
  • Provide leadership and performance management for direct reports and encourage overall collaboration and diversity of thought; lead and manage change.
  • Responsible for all BDM operational initiatives designed to improve marketing productivity and drive operational efficiency; lead the development, integration and maintenance of workflows, policies, processes and procedures for BDM.
  • Lead the marketing operations team in evaluating, deploying and optimizing marketing and workflow technologies including integrations and automations, liaising with external vendors and internal teams (IT, finance, innovation committees, etc.) to manage and support BDM and key users.
  • Using fact-based data driven best practices, create key performance indicators and provide regular reports, presentations, dashboards or other analyses for BDM and Firm leaders.
  • Lead planning, budgeting and forecasting for marketing operations.
  • Collaborate and liaise with Gowling WLG (UK) LLP stakeholders, and develop synergies where and when necessary to optimize marketing operations.
  • Remain current with marketing operations trends and best practices; share learning for continuous improvement.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant college or university degree, preferably with an emphasis on business, marketing, operations and/or communications.
  • A minimum of 10 years relevant experience, preferably within a professional services organization.
  • Proven leadership abilities and a solid track record of building relationships, harnessing technology to improve efficiency, and providing proactive and responsive solutions to business needs.
  • Ability to establish team priorities, communicate effectively, facilitate group discussions and coach individuals.
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing strategy, governance, research, planning, implementation, measurement and evaluation within a complex, fast-paced in-house business development and marketing department or marketing/communications agency.
  • Proficient with content marketing production, including email marketing, SEO, social/media , digital advertising and digital analytics.
  • Advanced knowledge of client relationship management (CRM), database technology, User Experience (UX) web design principles, and martech.
  • Knowledge of Client Experience (CX) principles an asset.
  • Self-motivated, organized, resilient, curious, discerning and solutions-oriented.
  • Exceptional client service skills.
  • Strong and flexible interpersonal skills, including influencing and consensus-building skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Bilingual (English and French) is an asset.
