Purpose

We are looking for a senior content manager with a strong editorial and SEO marketing background to help take the content marketing to the next level and push boundaries of both B2B and B2C content.

Contributes to the overall success of the Digital Marketing team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

  • Strong understanding across all aspects of content strategy, including research, analysis, planning and ongoing creation and governance of content.
  • Knowledge of platform and audience behaviours to identify content opportunities across Canadian and Intentional channels.
  • Work closely with SEO and data experts to inform and validate content strategy – understanding the impact of work, and consistently measuring results.
  • Partner effectively with internal stakeholders and external agency partners to develop effective and engaging content assets.
  • Build content strategy, guidance and best-in-class content playbooks.
  • Develop and build editorial calendars to define content plans across multiple touchpoints. Understanding of diverse content assets and formats for strong strategic impact.
  • Evaluate existing content and content structures and recommend ways to increase effectiveness.
  • Work collaboratively with creative team, social strategists, and agency partners to plan distribution of content through paid, owned and earned media.
  • Test and implement innovative and relevant methods of measuring content, campaigns, and tools.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information

  • 6-8 years of experience as a Content Strategist agency or brand side
  • Understanding and knowledge of how people consume content
  • Proven effective use of SEO and
  • Critical thinking and great leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Confidence to work independently

Working Conditions

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel domestically.

The Paid Social Media Specialist is a key new role we are adding to the team to help enhance, grow, and innovate an ever-growing channel for Klick and the media world as a whole. We are looking for someone with the perfect balance of strategic consumer insight, reporting, and problem-solving.

Skills and Experience:

    • You’ll bring at least 3 years of experience in developing strategies and executing paid social media campaigns. In your career, you will have been client-facing and developed digital strategies for Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat, Pinterest and Twitter. Ideally, you will have worked on campaigns for the US market and it would be an asset if you have supported clients in pharma or healthcare. You have the creativity and drive to reach for big ideas and the stamina to sweat the details.
    • When you come in to meet with the team, we want to hear about your experience developing digital strategy plans for paid social that drive results.

Required Qualifications

    • 3+ years of online advertising experience and 1+ years of client facing experience required
    • Have a background working in the paid social space (Facebook Ads Manager, GDN, YouTube, Linked In, Amobee Social, etc)
    • Have a core operational understanding of critical campaign components such as: Brand Safety Guidelines, Ad Viewability, and filtering for Suspicious and/or fraudulent media activity
    • Be extremely detail-oriented, have the ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently among multiple client campaigns and daily tasks, and be able to work effectively under pressure
    • Have the ability to provide timely feedback to colleagues, superiors and partners
    • Have the ability to act as a proactive part of the media team and to act as a self-starter in an environment that encourages creativity, enthusiasm and organization
    • Excellent knowledge of Excel and intermediate knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
    • Analytical, detail-oriented and highly organized
    • Ability to operate under minimum supervision in a growth company
    • Eager to master new software platforms
    • Strong initiative with emphasis on problem resolutions
    • Adaptable and flexible to work in a fast paced environment of continuous change
    • Degree or diploma in business administration, marketing accounting or similar

What you will do

  • Define the SMB market opportunity for ICM; performing targeting and segmentation research that identifies segments with the highest propensity to buy.
  • Distill customer and market insights to identify new market opportunities, critical gaps and leverage insights to inform our Product, Sales, and other organizational stakeholders.
  • Partner with Competitive Intelligence and other internal teams to gather and analyze TAM and competitive information to create a point of view to support product portfolio, new product launches and to better position the business for profitable growth
  • Support the ongoing growth of new products and services.
  • Conduct research to gather data and insight about crucial buyer roles, needs, and purchasing requirements.
  • Influence product development via well-defined market requirements.
  • Partner with product management to create competitive intelligence and content for use in positioning ICM against similar offerings.
  • Create personas and build differentiated positioning and messaging for ICM SBM based on buyer understanding, marketing trends.
  • Collaborate sales enablement to produce sales enablement plans and deliver sales materials.
  • Plan and orchestrate product launch/release activities using practical tools and techniques to maximize market penetration and sales impact.
  • Provide and buyer insights to drive campaign strategies, including demand creation and reputation building.
  • Create marketing content, including messaging guides, presentations, articles, blog posts, digital/social assets, etc., in close collaboration with campaigns, digital marketing, and community teams.
  • Assist in the development of customer references, testimonials, and case studies for external and internal use.
  • Evangelize and serve as spokesperson for ICM SMB by speaking at proprietary and third-party events to create market “buzz” and drive higher value to customers and the business.
  • Support analyst and media relations activities to improve Varicent and ICM SMB awareness and consideration.

What you will bring

  • B.A./B.S in marketing or related field
  • Experience with B2B SaaS products – You understand product-led growth strategies for SaaS products
  • 5+ years of work experience with 5+ years of experience in product marketing or related roles
  • Ability to converse with product managers and developers and distill technical information into meaningful and straightforward marketing messaging and storylines
