What is the opportunity?
To join a global, exciting and forward-thinking advanced analytics team within the Quantitative Technology Services (QTS) group at RBC Capital Markets (RBC CM) focused on building insight-driven client analytics.
The Global Investment Banking (GIB) Advanced Analytics team develops and deploys analytical tooling that complements the core client technology stack allowing Capital Markets businesses to identify new client opportunities, capture incremental wallet share, create scalable/reusable data assets for ad-hoc analysis, and expand the breadth of existing and prospective client relationships.
The team is looking for an outstanding Data Scientist to lead our digital marketing analytics efforts. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for the strategy and execution of building scalable and insight driven digital marketing analytics that focus on lead generation, campaign execution and broader brand strategy initiatives.
What will you do?
- Work closely with the Capital Markets Client & Marketing Strategy business to build and execute on the long-term digital marketing analytics roadmap while meeting immediate business asks
- Apply your skills in data exploration, statistical analysis and machine learning on a diverse number of data sources to identify insights and opportunities across various digital marketing channels
- Work to integrate the core marketing data stack into the broader client data stack for enhanced value-add insights
- Collaborate with data engineers, other data scientists and data architects across QTS to scale analytics initiatives from concept to production.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Degree in a quantitative field
- Strong development expertise in Python/R programming writing production-ready code.
- Strong data profiling, cleaning, engineering, mining and technical documentation skills
- Strong grasp of fundamentals in statistics (hypothesis testing, regression, inference, time series)
- Experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g. Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, etc.)
- Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and supervised/unsupervised learning methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience building strong relationships and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice-to-have
- Experience developing interactive and sophisticated dashboards that communicate complex data insights to a diverse set business stakeholders
- Experience with big data technologies – parallel processing techniques and Apache Spark, NoSQL/SQL databases
- Proficiency in Linux environment, shell scripting, and Git
- Experience working with Palantir Foundry, Salesforce, Airflow, FastScore
- A keen interest in Investment Banking and Capital Markets
