As Director of Client Success, you’ll be at the forefront of building, nurturing, and influencing relationships with senior executive stakeholders on our client’s teams. You’ll solve critical business problems such as:

  • Helping the client navigate internal regime changes and proactively engage Powered by Search to develop effective 30-60-90 onboarding plans and mandates to accelerate marketing outcomes.
  • Developing frequent & highly engaged, in-depth, and impactful dialogue with our clients’ management, senior leadership, and VC and PE partners to drive their marketing priorities forward.
  • Connecting them with more solutions that we can help them holistically with and also introduce them to our large network within the B2B SaaS ecosystem.

You are the missing piece we are looking for. Together with our team, you’ll drive executive stakeholder relationships with our entire portfolio of clients and help us achieve our 3-year LTV target for client retention.

This is The Right Role For You If…

  • You’re experienced (and excited by!) working day-to-day with multiple executive stakeholders at the c-level (i.e. CEO, COO, CMO) or VP-level (VP Marketing).
  • You’re a career client success or relationship management leader with a proven track record of nurturing executive stakeholder relationships on enterprise teams.
  • You’re a former B2B SaaS marketing executive turned business consultant.
  • You’ve worked in B2B account management or sales but were energized by relationship building versus closing deals and sharing deliverables.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring demonstrated success in growing and protecting executive client relationships at a trusted advisor level, and managing account retention for consultative professional services industries.

This job is likely not for you if you’re unfamiliar, or uncomfortable working day-to-day with business leaders at the C-level or VP level. This job occasionally requires leading difficult conversations or delivering adjusting feedback to senior leadership teams.

  • You are business savvy, meaning you take the time to understand your client’s market, their customer, and their business so you deliver impactful guidance.
  • You have excellent written and verbal skills, and are a great communicator in every medium. You have a strong ability to craft succinct and enticing emails that get quick responses from executives.
  • You are proficient at creating and leading strong narratives, presentations, and in-person meetings. You’re excellent at speaking to individuals and groups to capture their imagination and visualize your concepts.
  • You command authority naturally as a facilitator of conversations, and have a track record of reducing pressure, noise ,and overwhelm.

This role has enormous exposure and will amplify your career. You’ll speak with high-level decision-makers from some of the largest B2B SaaS companies in the world!

Your Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day, you’ll bridge the gap between our account teams working ‘in’ the client’s business and executive stakeholders working ‘on’ the business by frequently meeting with client decision makers and check signers to discuss their priorities, their work, and their life. You will use Zoom and be on video with your prospects every time.
  • Every 2 weeks, you will send check signers a brief video of a high-level scorecard and progress update at the 10,000 ft level to celebrate wins, champion our point of contact to their boss, and occasionally share cursory documents being shown as artifacts of progress.
  • On a monthly basis, you will plan and facilitate mastermind webinars where executive stakeholders across our client portfolio can brainstorm on common challenges, get to know each other, and foster a community.
  • On a quarterly basis, you will leverage the Powered by Search promise (an agreement with all clients when beginning a program) to generate high-quality referrals for our growth advisor team to develop into potential new business.
  • You’ll proactively conduct ad hoc outreach and manage Powered by Search’s gifting process to deliver carefully researched and personally meaningful things to client executives so they know they’re top of mind, and to celebrate their milestones (i.e. birthdays, anniversaries, funding rounds).
  • Occasionally, you’ll be expected to travel to meet check signers in-person at their home cities or at conferences to nurture relationships. You will also have the opportunity at conferences to speak, and acquire clients.
  • As new stakeholders join client teams you will be responsible for welcoming, orienting, and integrating them into our ongoing partnership. This includes getting clarity on their 30-60-90 day plans, and demonstrating how we can be useful to them in making their work easier, their reputation better, and them more of a lynchpin to their organization.
  • You’ll work collaboratively with our VP of Operations and Delivery teams to ensure overall service quality, client satisfaction, and maintain proactive notifications of progress & performance to client executives.

Expected Results

Reporting to the CEO, you will be expected to:

  • Develop and nurture relationships with executive stakeholders on client teams as their trusted advisor. They know you, like you, and trust you.
  • Demonstrably contribute an increase in client LTV to an average of 3 years.
  • Deliver WOW outcomes in every interaction so that our internal measurement of client relationship status across our entire portfolio is >90% ‘green,’ and NPS is >60.
  • Acquire high-quality referrals at a success rate of 5% of total client portfolio per quarter to support company growth targets.
  • Adequately plan for client exits (vs. being surprised) so that we can adapt our retention strategies, and plan for our resourcing properly.
