As our new System Designer, you will:

  • Create concept designs for review with our business partners and/or peers.
  • Design or participate in the design of innovative, practical solutions to complex problems.
  • Regularly meet with peers, project leads and other teams, to determine requirements, provide analytical data and possible solutions.
  • Create or participate in the scheduling of project activities.
  • Prepare schematic, layout drawings and installation instructions.
  • Follow the procurement policy to purchase the systems and the material that is needed on projects, in conjunction with the Project Lead(s) and/or Manager(s).
  • Participate in the implementation phase of the project.
  • Verify system performance and ensure that identified deficiencies are rectified.
  • Prepare documentation for ongoing operation and maintenance of facilities.
  • Track and report on project progresses, identifying and escalating any deviations from the project plan.

What you bring:

  • Knowledge in detailed networking design and implementation
  • Hands-on experience with: Networking technologies and related products from different manufacturers (Cisco, Arista, Fortinet) for data centers, campus networking and different types of network services, automation, network configurations and modifications
  • Hands-on experience with: Complex routing protocols, Wi-Fi, authentication, WAN technologies, multicast, networking security policies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Applied Science or Engineering, or a Diploma in Applied Science and Technology
  • Experience in Project Management is preferred, specifically with the Agile approach
  • Membership, or eligibility to become a member, of the provincial Engineering Association (PEO, OIQ, … etc), an asset
  • Strong and influential verbal and written communication skills in English and French considered a strong asset

What you bring:

  • University degree, or college diploma, in the field of computer science or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 5 years of experience working in a related field
  • Strong technical knowledge of network services, PC and Mac operating systems as well as mobile operating systems
  • Strong technical knowledge of enterprise-grade device management (SCCM, Intune, JamF)
  • Strong technical knowledge of scripting languages (Powershell, Bash, Google Apps script)
  • Good Technical knowledge of EDR solutions (Crowdstrike, Sentinel, Defender)
