  • Assist with drafting media releases and media advisories.
  • Assist with creating content for newsletters.
  • Assist with creating a media database.
  • Maintain accurate information and documentation.
  • Assist in organizing, and providing coverage of events and campaigns.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Marketing and Communications team and various internal and external stakeholders to align departmental initiatives with Agency goals. Execute tasks in an efficient and client-focused manner to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings and events.
  • Engage in regular meetings with the Director and other staff to discuss individual and team effectiveness.
  • Adhere to agency policies, procedures, and the Mission, Vision, and Values of Dixon Hall.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, or another related program.
  • Relevant work experience (placement opportunities included) in similar environments is an asset.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher) and database management.
  • Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Dependable, punctual and flexible.
  • A second language is an asset.
  • Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.
  • Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency.
