Job Description
Position: Shipping Clerk
We are seeking a reliable, organized shipping clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the shipment of goods and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complete. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
– Ensure that all shipments are properly packaged and labeled
– Coordinate with carriers to schedule pick-ups and deliveries
– Prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading and customs forms
– Track shipments and maintain accurate records
– Communicate with customers regarding shipment status and estimated delivery times
– Inspect inbound shipments for accuracy and completeness
– Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shipping area
Requirements:
– High school diploma or GED
– Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred
– Strong attention to detail
– Excellent organizational and time management skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Good communication skills, both written and verbal
– Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
– Ability to lift and move heavy packages as needed
