Mandate.
The key objective of the acquisition marketing team is to grow awareness and acquire new clients for BMO Investorline (Online Investing products) via marketing activities, partnering closely with internal business teams, sales, and external agencies to grow asset and client market share.
The Senior Marketing Manager will lead programs and campaigns related to growth/ acquisition marketing strategies, helping drive the objectives of the Investorline Acquisition Marketing team. The role requires a strong competency in strategy, product marketing, and go-to-market activations.
In addition, a core component of the role will be to own and drive the InvestorLine social media and content strategies helping to drive organic traffic and sales growth.
Job Description
Marketing Project / Program Management & Execution
Lead and develop strategic marketing program roadmaps, business cases, product initiatives and marketing programs
Drive the development of marketing campaigns rooted in customer research and business insights to drive engagement and sales.
Assume ownership of acquisition campaigns, sharing key milestones and learnings with stakeholders where necessary. This will include managing internal and external approval processes, creative development, managing the reporting process, Q/A, and line of business, legal, compliance and privacy approvals, and translation.
Develop campaign data targeting matrices to identify client groups for targeting, campaign performance tracking and post campaign measurement.
Provide analyses of marketing campaign key performance indicators and results, for example traffic, key word rankings, and overall acquisition.
Production and submission of campaign/content briefs for external agency partners.
Ensure the adherence to Brand and Product standards of all content and creative, in alignment to business objectives.
Lead Q/A and UAT prior to campaign deployment.
Recommend improvements and optimizations for acquisition campaigns based on insights derived from campaign analytics and reporting.
Content and Social Media strategy and execution
Assume ownership of overall content strategy for InvestorLine across BMO social media channels and InvestorLine education hub.
Develop a comprehensive content and social media plan for InvestorLine, designed to grow target audiences and fuel engagement with these audiences.
Develop social engagement strategy, including strategy for emerging social platform engagement, to grow demand generation and product awareness.
Lead and manage the planning and development of content for InvestorLine and associated web properties (Including podcasts, articles, courses, and quizzes etc.) to facilitate the translation of complex investing topics into easy to understand, actionable, inclusive, and empathetic content to meet audience investing needs
Develop timely and relevant content in response to trending and emerging industry topics and events.
Manage contract copywriters including structuring of work, review of copy, managing priorities and capacity.
Partner with Brand, Digital Marketing, SEO, design, product and corporate communications and other content stakeholders to align, maintain, and drive cross channel synergies with broader content marketing efforts in Wealth
Partner with Enterprise SEO peers, to lead information architecture and associated projects to maintain and periodically evaluate navigation (eg site maps, site navs, links, menus etc.)
Partner with the BMO.com web production team in execution and management of educational content, Education Hub redesigns and other key projects related to content such as content audits.
Review communication and competitor trends, identifying emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making
Collaborate with agency partners and digital team to optimize performance against key metrics and acquisition targets.
Change Innovation & Efficiencies
Identify areas of opportunity to increase production efficiencies, developing business cases illustrating how these can support overall business objectives.
Collaborate with the broader Wealth and InvestorLine marketing teams (such as Lifecyle) to improve customer experience and customer engagement through new strategies and campaign recommendations.
Identify potential campaign testing needs and facilitate A/B testing
Relationship Management
Work closely with external and internal agency partners and vendors to successfully deliver campaigns, projects, and content.
Collaborate with business partners and other Wealth line of business and marketing partners to understand strategic business objectives and areas of intersection.
Collaborate with digital and analytics partners to refine and optimize campaigns continuously.
Liaise with colleagues across the BMO enterprise, leveraging expertise, experience, and knowledge to provide our customers with consistent and cohesive experience.
Knowledge and Experience:
You should have a strong experience that spans demand and revenue generation, content strategy, paid and social media, and analytics as well as strong experience in developing and managing acquisition promotions /marketing campaigns
Deep expertise in creative development, execution, and measurement related to acquisition/ growth marketing
Strong working knowledge of digital media strategy and tactics including content and social media strategy development and execution
An established knowledge of social media and content strategy and tools (including SEO)
Experience delivering programs, campaigns and client facing content in Financial Services, Online Investing, or other highly regulated industries is a big plus.
Ability to successfully work with and manage agency partners and content vendors
Self-directed and enthusiastic team player, collaborative, with a positive approach
Ability to interact with senior levels of the organization
Ability to work in a matrix environment and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Strong oral, written and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively
Technical Skills:
Strong creative writing and editorial skills
Familiarity with Content Management Systems and Adobe Experience manager
Advanced skills in multi-media content generation
Working knowledge of programmatic media, SEM and SEO, including guidelines and regulations
Competitive analysis, business casing and go-to-market planning and execution
Qualifications:
Typically, 6-10 or more years of relevant experience –and a minimum of 4 years of content design, content strategy and or copy writing experience will be helpful.
Post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degree/diploma in marketing, business advertising, or communications.
Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
