Acting as a key liaison with the Academic Advising department, the Program Assistant will also advise and direct students on all program matters pertaining to the co-op and internship program, as well as their academic program upon their return.Responsibilities/accountabilities:Administrative and Program Coordination:
- Provide administrative support to co-op programming
- Respond to general inquiries from students, faculty, staff, industry and community stakeholders
- Facilitate submission of all work reports
- Design surveys and facilitate coordination of meetings
- Coordinate offsite employer and student placement visits
Program Promotion and Event Support:
- Assists with the creation and maintenance of promotional materials related to co-op
- Market and promote student participation in employment related events such as job fairs and recruitment sessions
- Participate in and support Open Houses and related institutional activities
Student Support:
- Provide guidance and support to students with regards to eligibility criteria for co-op and internship programs, and provide strategies to ensure eligibility is met
Education:
- Completion of a formal post-secondary program of three academic years
- A combination of education and experience may be considered
Experience:
- Over 1 year and including 3 years
Knowledge:
- Expert knowledge and understanding of social media platforms
Skills:
- Proficient in the use of MS Office applications such as MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, diplomacy and tact, professional and courteous
- Attention to details, organization and good planning skills
- Ability to work with integrity, independently and in team environment
- Experience with event planning and promotional marketing is an asset
- Excellent problem-solving skills
