- Some banking or financial analysis experience: ideally 1-2 years in commercial lending or business banking, or at a VC fund, or in a similar analytical role/capacity
- Understanding and thorough knowledge of the technology and innovation startup ecosystem in Ottawa, as well as Ontario North & East regions, and Canada and the US broadly, as well as a an understanding of the startup company lifecycle journey, with a focus on accelerator/incubator startup creation through to pre-seed/seed stage and Series A venture capital raise

- You may have been in the trenches before: experience as an entrepreneur, launching a business, working in a start-up, or advising/mentoring and working with early stage tech startups at an accelerator, incubator, or innovation hub, and/or previously working at a venture capital fund
- You may have academic exposure through a post-secondary diploma/degree in commerce or business administration, or a sciences related degree and/or related experience.

In this role, you will provide administrative and communications support to execute on the overall engagement strategy – across partnerships, sponsorships and content. This role will be approximately 60% administrative and 40% marketing and communications – roughly broken down below.
What will you do?
Some of this role’s responsibilities are outlined below.
- Administration:
- Responsible for the coordination, tactical execution, tracking and day-to-day administration of regional and national marketing campaigns
- Implement and management processes for our external partnership and sponsorship management, including contracts, dashboards, fulfillment, and analytics
- Support online and in-person (when safe) events across Canada, such as registrations, nametags, coordinating printing of collaterals, making reservations, deliveries, etc.
- Develop new tracking systems for media and marketing initiatives for our team members and clients
- Perform administrative duties specific to the platform engagement department such as updating and maintaining databases, client lists and preparing materials for distribution to clients
- Coordinate translation, proofreading, and other marketing functions
- Sponsorships & Communications:
- Work closely with regional and national teams across RBC and RBCx for sponsorship collaboration and management
- Maintain marketing and communications materials (PDFs, PowerPoints, pullup banners, business cards, letterhead)
- Digital:
- Assist in the management of our online properties, including the RBCx website, client marketplace and social media channels (Twitter, Linkedin)
