  • Must reside near Vaughan and have the use of a car.
  • Conduct on-site inspections of industrial, commercial, and institutional (ICI) water meters.
  • Record and verify meter readings, conditions, and installation details.
  • Identify and document any issues related to meter functionality, bypass valve seals, or potential irregularities in the water meter room, taking photos of associated components.
  • Collaborate with the project team to complete Field Inspection Sheets and report findings.
  • Ensure compliance with municipal regulations and industry standards.
  • Communicate with property owners, facility managers, and others during inspections.
  • Assist with data entry and reporting to support project documentation.
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to fieldwork best practices.

Qualifications:What you’ll bring to WSP as a Water Infrastructure Technician:

  • Drive to water audit sites using your personal vehicle, with per-km compensation according to WSP’s guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to document findings accurately.
  • Leverage your knowledge from your ongoing studies toward a college Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Focus on water efficiency and energy audits.
  • Experience in water meter inspections, utility work, or water distribution systems is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional approach when dealing with clients and the public.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft software tools, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Maps, with the ability to use them effectively, is required. Experience with GIS or other mapping tools is a plus.
