You will be part of a winning team, enabled by DBS, that is passionate about helping life science experts around the world get to answers they can trust.Learn about the which makes everything possible.The Senior Manager, International Tax is responsible for overseeing tax compliance, reporting, and audits for income, sales, property, and R&D taxes, ensuring regulatory adherence, optimizing tax positions, and collaborating with different department.This position reports to the Global Tax Director and is part of the global tax team located in Ontario, Canada and will be working remotely to cover various tasks.In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Oversee income tax returns, Canadian GST filings, and tax exemptions, while responding to inquiries and audits from regulatory authorities and clients.
- Prepare ASC 740 (Tax Provisions) packages, deferred tax calculations, legal entity EBIT forecasts, and conduct monthly tax reviews in coordination with the Corporate Tax Group.
- Support U.S. sales tax reporting and audits, along with managing the calculation and reporting of Canadian R&D tax credits.
- Manage property tax payments, reconcile tax accounts, and analyze tax data to maximize recoveries and minimize tax liabilities.
- Ensure compliance with corporate tax policies, mitigate tax risks, and maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s degree in field with 9+ years experience OR Master’s degree in field with 3+ years experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 4+ years experience
- Strong understanding of US and Canadian tax system
- Ability to quickly grasp and apply knowledge of SR&ED tax credit, Canadian GST, and US sales tax system
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a global team environment
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Proven experience in tax accounting and analysis, preferably at a mid to senior level.
- Track record of employment history within Big 4 firms, public accounting firms, or in-house tax functions of multinational corporations.
