About the Online Marketing Analyst Role

This is the ideal role for a recent college or university graduate with an analytical mind and a marketing degree who is driven by results. Reporting to the Manager of Analytics & Technology, The Junior Online Marketing Analyst is responsible for monitoring online marketing performance and ensuring all data collected is accurate. These activities include: keyword research, search engine optimization, paid search management, data collection setup, monitoring dashboards, and ongoing reporting.

Training for this role will be provided. However, proven analytical, research and organizational skills are prerequisites for this position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

ONGOING MONITORING & ANALYSIS

  • Monitor data and evaluate KPI performance across all marketing channels based on client Data Studio dashboards.
  • Interpret results from client dashboards, work with the Core team and other third parties to implement and adjust tactics to improve results.
  • Ensure data from all sources is accurate and being captured appropriately.

RESEARCH

  • Regularly perform thorough keyword research to guide content, email, and social teams.
  • Develop competitive keyword analysis to identify competitor online presence on a client by client basis.
  • Identify and communicate new opportunities and developments in online search.

SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION

  • Develop keyword maps to guide SEO efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Core team to execute updates to on-page SEO elements.

TRACKING SETUP

  • Setup data collection tools such as Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Optimize, and other conversion tracking scripts on client websites.
  • Add target keywords and keep SEO tracking tools up-to-date.

PAID SEARCH MANAGEMENT

  • Setup and make updates to paid campaigns using Google Ads and Google Ads Editor as per the direction from the Core team.

  • Understand the reporting frequency for each client and LOB (Line of Business). Pull reports or look at performance in platforms based on the established cadence. Analyze and make optimization recommendations where appropriate.
  • Ensuring that campaign details are accurately input/ordered (rates, budgets, start/end dates, etc.) per plan/booking details
  • Collecting and issuing campaign screen grabs at launch
  • Generating and issuing client reports, inclusive of, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports

  • Ensure the highest level of accuracy by always double-checking work including but not limited to; excel formulas, number transcription, report pulls, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

This entry level role is best suited to a recent digital marketing/media advertising graduate with a great attitude, collaborative spirit and excellent technical skills.

Role Mandate:

The Senior Analyst, Marketing Productivity leads the translation of data and analytics into marketing insights, assets, and tools to advance marketing strategy. This role collaborates with peers within key enabling partners across LCL to leverage, capture and consolidate required data for marketing productivity and measurement needs. They serve as an internal expert on translating data & analytics into marketing insights, and provide support and expertise to Brand teams on leveraging insights to inform marketing plans and briefs.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Insights & Analytics: Works with LCL partners to access and use relevant data, analytics, customer research, and trends, to support the Productivity team in making appropriate recommendations to the Marketing organization. Maintains an in-depth knowledge of LCL’s currently available data, assets, tools and capabilities, and acts as an internal point of contact on the applicability and limitations of these capabilities for Marketing’s priorities, and to gather additional inputs, as needed
  • Marketing Measurement: Conducts research and analyses on recommended KPIs and baseline benchmarks in support of developing a marketing measurement framework for assessing marketing campaign performance. Evaluates the framework against leading practice. Supports the Sr. Manager in disseminating the framework across Marketing Brand teams, Loblaw Agency, and Loblaw Media.
  • Reporting Dashboards & Templates: Supports the development of reporting dashboards and templates based on priorities; gathers inputs, maintains, and updates dashboards and metrics for Marketing team
  • Upskilling & Change Management: Supports the Sr. Manger in developing, coordinating and delivering programs to upskill Marketing teams in productivity, insights and analytics capabilities
  • Optimization, Innovation & Best Practices: Works with partners to compile campaign performance reports with key metrics, highlight trends and areas for optimization, and provide insights to Brand teams for post-mortem discussions. Refine reporting dashboard metrics, as warranted. Proactively suggests opportunities to test & learn, incorporating leading practice and innovative strategies to bring best in class marketing analytics practices to the marketing organization

Outcomes & KPIs:

  • Quality/completeness of marketing productivity dashboard(s) and templates, and measurement framework
  • Delivery of requested productivity analysis and insights to Brand teams
  • Accessibility of data/assets/tools to Marketing team

Key Skills & Capabilities:
