Logistics

Our office is located at 14 Birch Avenue, in the Summerhill area of midtown Toronto, but we’ve all been working from home/remotely for the past year due to the pandemic. This is expected to continue for at least several months to come. Job Description

The Digital Content Specialist will report to the Director of Digital Marketing. They will be joining a growing digital team that boasts specialties across SEO, social and paid media marketing. We thrive on delivering incremental performance growth, in a fast-paced, agile work environment. This position is full-time and we’re looking to fill it (with someone great), as soon as possible.

The ideal candidate has experience managing organic search efforts from keyword research and ideation, to execution, and through continuous optimization. They will work closely with our design team to ensure that the content is engaging and consistent. The individual will be a self-starter, detail-oriented and passionate about crafting effective messaging in the (often character-restrictive) digital space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with clients to drive SEO in content creation and strategy.
  • Perform keyword research and provide recommendations for content expansion and optimization.
  • Collaborate with freelance writers to refine website copy and landing pages to improve search engine rankings and conversion performance.
  • Assist the social media team by developing content for active social channels.
  • Develop design briefs for internal creative teams to execute against.
  • Develop SEO content briefs for client review and team execution.
  • Research content and consumer trends, develop content strategies, and create content for a variety of clients.
  • Ensure all digital content work is executed flawlessly and act as the final Quality Assurance check for digital copy, prior to delivery.
  • Actively participate in creative development and collaborate effectively with creative teams to ensure that integrated campaigns are successful in the digital space.
  • Map out comprehensive content plans based on the active channels available and client goals. Drive strategies that are proven by testing and metrics.
  • Execute tests, collect and analyze data and results, identify trends and insights in order to achieve maximum ROI in SEO projects.
  • Recommend changes to website architecture and content to improve organic search positions for target keywords when necessary

Ideal Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience working within a media company or advertising agency with a solid foundation in digital content production.
  • Possesses knowledge and experience in the tenets of traditional and digital marketing. Marketing degree is welcomed but not required with relevant work experience.
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented, with proven expertise in juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintains excellent writing and language skills.
  • Confidence in your own point of view, and a willingness to push for great ideas.
  • Be a key player in helping digital campaigns stand out and resonate with customers.

  • Knowledge writing social content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, and Pinterest, with an understanding of how each platform can be leveraged for different goals.
  • Proficient in content marketing theory and application.
  • Experience sourcing, writing and managing content development and publishing.
  • Exhibits the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, able to demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound.
  • Is a team player with the confidence to take the lead and work well with others. (i.e: content development, creation and editing of content, and online reputation management responses).
  • Has reliable tech fluency and an ability to pick up new tools quickly.
  • Experience with project management software and other communications platforms like Sprout Social, Trello, JIRA and Slack.
  • Familiarity with website design and development. Possesses intermediate knowledge with WordPress CMS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary purpose of this role will be to focus on generating new customers and leads through paid advertising and digital marketing, as well as assist in managing and improving our testing programs.

PPC (60%)

  • Manage and build on our current PPC free email acquisition campaigns, and expand into paid subscriber acquisition and wealth management lead generation.
  • Launch and optimize our PPC campaigns on search platforms (e.g., Google AdWords, Microsoft, Facebook) to ensure their success and to identify opportunities to scale.
  • Perform weekly PPC tasks, such as keyword research, negative keyword mining, bid adjustments, and writing attractive and concise copy for adverts.
  • Landing page split-tests and optimization.
  • Technical setup of tracking scripts and conversion event codes.
  • Recommend new strategies based on data and testing.
  • Track KPIs to assess performance, pinpoint issues and improve ROI.
  • Help create weekly and monthly reports for management (e.g., dashboards).
  • Keep abreast of PPC and digital marketing trends.

Lead Generation (30%)

  • Work with manager to build digital marketing strategies for additional lead generation marking support for wealth management – email and website.
  • Create and implement testing opportunities to showcase value and bring new leads into the sales funnel.
  • Dive into business performance data to understand what’s working (and not working) and make necessary adjustments.
  • Present findings and make recommendations based on your analytics.

Testing Program Management (10%)

  • Coordinate our testing & optimization program to empower marketing with data driven insights.
  • Collaborate with your marketing colleagues to drive continuous improvements in the testing program, including implementing industry best practices in methodologies, technologies, and automation.
  • Act as primary testing & optimization subject matter expert. Maintain a testing backlog, coordinate execution of key tests across the organization.
  • Create a testing knowledge base by recording successes, failures and trends accumulated across tests, and effectively communicate these learnings and insights.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • BSc/BA in Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience managing PPC campaigns across all platforms.
  • Proven track record of exceptional PPC results.
  • Advanced Google Analytics certification. Google Ads certified.
  • Experience with digital reporting, tagging, tracking and analytics, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • Experience with conversion optimization, UX design, and email and website marketing.
  • Passion for testing marketing efforts.
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Moderate to advanced Excel experience (pivot tables, graphs, etc.).
