Who we are looking for

You know what copywriting is, and you can prove your success at driving leads and sales. In fact, that’s your specialty.

You’re creative. An ideas factory. A word-whizz that bridges the gap between science and art to create income-generating copy. Whether it’s a clever tagline or a fully integrated marketing campaign, you deliver. On time, to brief, and with outstanding results.

Of course, you know copywriting principles and you know how to use them—from the simplicity of a contraction to proper sentence construction. You perform thorough research, and you’re a tone of voice connoisseur.

You have a natural ability to manage multiple briefs across different media in a fast-paced business, while consistently delivering quality work. You work well as part of a team, but you’re at your best when trusted to get on with creating copy magic.

Above all, you know what makes people tick, so you can change people’s behaviour using nothing more than ink on a page or pixels on a screen.

Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities

In a role reporting to the Lead Copywriter, you’ll create work either from scratch or by turning dry technical subjects into outstanding pieces of content. You will:

  • Write longform content, such as blogs, guides, case studies, and general marketing collateral.
  • Write conversion copy for email marketing, landing pages, PPC ads, display, and conversion rate optimization experiments.
  • Follow the Group’s tone of voice recommendations and manage constructive feedback from senior colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Be meticulous and create work to a high standard.
  • Use technical content and expertise from within the Group as well as by performing deep research.
  • Monitor competitor activity, customer behaviour, and the latest trends to improve the performance of your writing and content.
  • Ensure all copy is delivered to brief, on time, and to the required quality standards.

Essential Attributes

  • 3 years’ minimum professional copywriting experience.
  • Demonstrable understanding of copywriting best practices.
  • Thorough understanding of SEO best practices and experience with SEO content writing.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, curiosity, and a desire to improve.
  • An ability to empathize with your reader/target audience to create the desired content/outcome.
  • A track record of developing marketing copy from conception to delivery to impact.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills.
  • Experience using content management systems (CMS) to build and publish content.

Why Work for Peninsula?

  • Day off on your birthday
  • Enhanced Benefits with Health and Dental Coverage
  • We offer a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) Matching Program
  • Downtown Location (Right near Union Station)
  • Vacation Days increase after 2 and 5 years’ service

Peninsula is a highly motivated enterprise that promotes an entrepreneurial culture. Peninsula is committed to an inclusive, equitable and accessible workplace where all employees are valued. Accommodations are available upon request for candidates participating in our selection process.
