- Design and test small equipment improvements in the Rolling Mills and Finishing Ends.
- Gain additional experience with CAD, 3D printing.
Process Engineering
- Help the Rolling Mill Department Plan and Execute our Annual Action Plan for 2024/25.
- This includes, supporting the plan with process data analysis, honing focus on process problems, generating and executing actions to improve the process.
- Support process improvements through participation in formal Failure Analysis.
- Examining major material or process time losses using Root Cause Analysis methodology.
Develop Leadership Skills
- Introduction to managing a process in a unionized heavy manufacturing facility.
- The opportunity to train an incoming intern in 2025 as they hand off their responsibilities over 3 months to another candidate, and to transfer part of their learnings.
