Job description: Overview
The Senior Marketing Manager is a motivated and creative team leader who sets the vision and goals, and drives the development and execution of the marketing strategy for the Ontario region.
The primary goals of this regional leader is to build and manage a high-performing marketing team that is empowered by technology; supports the sales professionals in brokerage, including leasing and capital markets business; drives brand elevation using data-led content in the region; and supports regional sales enablement to win new business.
While this role focuses on the Ontario region, they will also have an integral role in the global marketing organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute marketing activities, focused on brand elevation, client services, service line deliverables, and sales enablement. End products should reflect Avison Young’s unique differentiators, competitive advantage and surpass stakeholder expectations.
- Act as the ‘knowledge hub’ for Toronto’s service lines and subject matter experts ensuring marketing efforts are coordinated, consistent, and relevant to the individual industries, markets and the firm.
- Create a dynamic team environment and build and execute on multi-channel marketing plans for Avison Young brokers and their clients.
- Provide design and production oversight by ensuring quality resources are available to deliver on all marketing collateral using Adobe Creative Cloud, including print brochures, email blasts, websites, advertisement, pitches, proposals, social media and marketing deliverables.
- As needed, art direct and coordinate the creation of multi-media marketing deliverables, including videos, drones, AR/VR, apps, with third-party vendors.
- Participate in presentations, pitches and meetings, on an as needed basis, as a representative of Avison Young’s marketing team, its differentiated capabilities and creative solutions.
- Develop strategy for Avison Young’s digital and web presence in concert with the Global and Canadian marketing strategy, and in alignment with the national digital marketing team. Identify ways to expand Avison Young’s online presence through website, social media and email marketing strategies.
- Partner with Avison Young’s market intelligence team to stay informed about emerging market trends.
- Remain abreast of Avison Young’s technology stack and innovation initiatives, and identity areas of use in the Ontario markets; commitment to evolve skills with changing needs
- Build strong relationships across Avison Young’s organization to leverage its extensive marketing and creative resources, Market Intelligence teams, brokerage administrative staff, and business unit leadership across the regional and national platform.

- Has either a deep skillset within a functional area of marketing, or a broad skillset across multiple disciplines within marketing
- Has financial acumen – knows how we make money
- Can manage a marketing budget – can build a marketing budget and track projects against a budget
- Self-aware
- Experienced, with 8-15 years of experience
Other Qualifications/skills:
- Excellent writing, editing, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong creative skills, and ability to provide art direction
- Understanding of and commitment to client service
- Ability to work effectively in teams and be committed to the idea of do whatever it takes
- Ability to juggle multiple projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Bachelor’s degree, or 10 years relevant experience in a commercial real estate or professional services environment
- Comfortable working from Toronto head office as well as visiting other AY locations. This role is not seen as a “work from home” opportunity
