Your opportunity

We are looking for a Manager to expand and complement our IT Management Consulting team, specifically in the areas of Digital Strategy and Transformation.

BDO’s Digital Strategy team helps businesses and IT leaders in mid-to-large size organizations across all industries make informed decisions about technology adoption, driving change and competitiveness in a digital world. The practice assists organizations in the following areas: Technology enabled Revenue & Growth, Scalable & Sustainable Technology, and Effective & Efficient IT Operations.

The successful candidate will be required to work on management consulting assignments in the following areas:

Technology Enabled Revenue & Growth: Digital Strategy & Roadmap, Digital Marketing & Channel Strategy, E-commerce & Monetization Strategy, Customer Experience & Digital Experience Platforms and Innovation / Prototype New Product

Scalable & Sustainable Technology: Data, Analytics & AI Strategy, Applications & Technology Diagnostic, Target Architecture Design & Roadmap, Business Solutions & Systems Integrator Selection, Software Quality Assessment & Modernization Strategy

Effective & Efficient IT Operations: Digital & Agile Governance, IT Operating Model Transformation, Business Solution Project Health Check, Outsourcing Opportunity Assessment & Partner Selection, IT Due Diligence

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • The candidate will contribute to the sales, planning and execution of IT management consulting mandates, with proportionate responsibilities, accountabilities, and expectations appropriate to the candidate’s level, knowledge and experience. Mandates include (but is not limited to):
  • Develop digital strategy leveraging experience design
  • Analyze and document enterprise architectures at the business, application, data and technology level
  • Develop strategies and roadmaps for the evolution of the IT function based on business priorities, industry trends, and technology risks
  • Develop business cases (costs and benefits) for IT investments with supporting rationale
  • Write and manage RFI/RFQ/RFP’s for the acquisition of technology applications, platforms (i.e. ERP, CRM, BI, Digital Experience Platforms, etc.) and IT service providers (integrators, managed services, etc.) and assist clients in their selection process
  • Conduct assessments of IT programs and large projects and provide recommendations to improve chances of success
  • Analyze IT operating models and assess the IT organization maturity
  • Design IT target operating models from the point of view of governance, organization, skills, sourcing, cyber risks, processes and management tools
  • The candidate will also:
  • Contribute to the sales and the development of service offerings of the practice in collaboration with other practices and our business partners
  • Be creative in developing innovative strategies

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers
  • Conduct interviews and workshops

Your experience and education

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • University degree in information technology, engineering or management (graduate degree an asset)
  • Strong experience, minimum of 7 years, in IT management/integration and consulting services (ideally within a consulting firm)
  • Experience in technology consulting services or a functional IT position, ideally with experience in technology strategy consulting engagements
  • Strong ability to conduct analysis and develop recommendations to effectively respond to our clients’ challenges, plan and manage mandates, develop new approaches and concepts in their area of ​​expertise, and participate in service business development initiatives
  • Dynamic, autonomous and with great curiosity to keep abreast of the latest trends
  • The following are strong assets:
  • Exposure to leading ERP technology platforms (Workday, SAP, Oracle, etc. )

In this role, the expected qualifications are:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree program, graduating by September 2022, pursuing Computer Science, IT Management, Information Management, Marketing, Business Technology, UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, Digital Product Design, Web Design, Industrial design, Business, Commerce, Sociology, Consumer Behaviour, or other relevant degree.
  • Able to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with creative ability to conceptualize and articulate new approaches and solutions. French and English language working proficiency is required for placement at the Montreal office.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to enter the USA to work on client assignments.
  • Front End Engineering – you are passionate about technology; you have experience with Angular, React, React Native, IOS, Android, AR/VR, Node.js or other development languages/frameworks; you are interested in working with our clients to bring the human experience to life; you are excited to leverage design and research to build products that provide great customer experiences. You are self-motivated to learn and improve your technical and functional skills.
  • Product Delivery – you will be a part of a cross functional team of designers, developers, product specialists, and industry experts. You will be involved in discovery and elaboration of product design and features with clients, creation of user stories and specifications to define new products features, leading scrums and other delivery activities in the product development process. Your attention to detail, ability to conceptualize new customer centric features, and strong communication skills will serve you well in interacting frequently with senior level internal and external clients and firm leadership. Your prior experiences and educational background will allow you to understand and utilize our processes for product management and SAFE agile delivery at scale. You are a self-motivated individual who adopts a continuous learning approach to both your functional and technical skills to keep ahead of the changing digital ecosystem.
  • Experience Design – you have experience with the end-to-end iterative UX/UI design process including problem framing, wireframing, prototyping and/or visual design. You have experience applying user-centered design processes while working in cross functional teams. You have strong communication skills and your ability for storytelling helps your team and stakeholders understand the “why” behind your design rationale. You are collaborative, curious and have deep empathy for the end user. You have a portfolio or case study demonstrating your UX/UI skills (a portfolio or case study submission is required for consideration).
  • Customer & Digital Strategy – you have a keen interest in user research, customer and digital strategy, rapid prototyping/concept design, or human-centered design. You also have strong written and spoken communication skills and can develop research and insights into design or strategic recommendations that have a clear link to organizational strategy or business case. Nice-to-have: you are aware of and advocate for the importance of inclusion and equity in the design process with your team.

Our company helps SMEs identify and apply for non-dilutive funding programs (grants, tax incentives, etc.) The position pairs up a background in Business or Financial Management with Information Technology or Computing. If you enjoy writing, tech or marketing, here’s your opportunity to deliver commercial outcomes:

  • Assist with updating and creating new digital content to leverage search (SEO/SEM)
  • Develop social media presence (plus reporting process and structure; set and track critical metrics)
