Qualifications

  • Proven experience in event marketing and management

Discover how you and your team can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities in Canada.Reporting to the VP, Prospr by Sun Life, the AVP, Sales Leadership & Enablement will be the strategic thought leader for Sales Enablement for the Prospr by Sun Life Team, along with the management of the entire Sales Force. The role will be responsible for:

  • Setting the strategic direction and implementation of a series of initiatives with the intention of enabling maximum efficiency across the Sales force
  • Leading and managing the entire Prospr sales team of over 50+ (Licensed Advisors, Sales Managers, Sales Support team).
  • Ensuring that sales objectives are met, compliance processes are followed, and appropriate accreditation and licensing is attained and maintained.
  • Hiring and Recruiting, Performance Management, Rewards and Recognition, Career Management and Development.
  • Leadership accountabilities across the Prospr team and RAS.

What will you do:Sales Leadership:

  • Provide oversight on the development of the short and long term sales leadership objectives
  • Execute on the sales and business development strategy while delivering on corresponding revenue and margin targets. Deliver on the annual business plan commitments.
  • Accountable for achieving key revenue and financial measures
  • Provide strategic oversight, sales management and leadership coaching to set direction in the business plans on where to pivot on the execution of the monetization strategy.
  • Ongoing assessment and evolution of the Sales team infrastructure aligned with the growth objectives in Prospr
  • Strong partnership and collaboration functional partners to develop next evolution of strategic priorities including hiring, training, talent development, location strategy, career pathing, client segmentation, etc.

Sales Strategy and Enablement:

  • Lead the Strategic development and implementations the Prospr value proposition, especially as it relates to the role advisors play
  • Drive the series of initiatives with the intention of enabling maximum efficiency across the Sales force using levers such as internal and end-user training / education, communication, technology capabilities, tools, and internal marketing programs.
  • Monitor and develop a perspective on competitors, new entrants and Sun Life positioning for Prospr as it relates to Sales Enablement. Evaluate potential strategic alliances with external parties, as applicable
  • Support the sales organization by developing ongoing training and technical supports for them
  • Research complex business issues and provide insights, direction, guidance and recommendations with a focus on the customer and advisor experience and interaction
  • Drive efficiency and productivity of overall sales team
  • Ensure there is sound financial management, tracking and measurement of all key business activities within any recommended initiatives

Recruiting, Training and Career Development

  • In partnership with Sun Life Talent Acquisition, continue to develop and evolve comprehensive recruitment strategy aimed at attracting new and existing advisor talent across Canada.
  • Ensure effective orientation and on-boarding of resources assigned to the channel
  • Lead and direct a diverse team, ensuring strong employee engagement
  • Ensure proper career pathing and development within Sales team
  • Work with center of excellence to determine long term recruiting strategy to best service a diverse client base

Business Results

  • Develop and implement sales programs, tools and processes aligned with overall strategy for sales results, client acquisition and other business results
  • Ongoing evolution and assessment on the effectiveness of all sales management processes and practices to deliver on business growth objectives
  • Accountable for ensuring all regulatory and policy requirements are met, working closely with Compliance team while delivering an exceptional client experience
  • Drive sales results across both Insurance and Wealth, with significant QoQ and YoY growth. Driving Sales excellence and ongoing sales growth by providing clients with exceptional experience in a hybrid advice model.

What do you need to succeed:

  • Proven sales leadership experience with winning track record in driving and delivering strong results
  • Strong people management skills – leading large sales force team
  • Knowledge of dealer business and application technology
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving delivery of strategies and initiatives and working within a matrix organization
  • Strong mutual fund and insurance industry knowledge along with relevant designations
  • Outstanding client and relationship management skills, service oriented with a demonstrated sense of urgency
  • A thought leader, inquisitive and comfortable in challenging the status quo
  • Executive level presentation skills – written and oral – and ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization

Qualifications

  • University degree with a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible sales experience or an equivalent combination of education
  • A professional financial services designation or equivalent experience
  • Necessary Insurance and Wealth designations
  • Bilingual in French/English an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
