  • Designs and builds menus in accordance with menu building standards, for all supported POS software platforms.
  • Performs tests in accordance with established guidelines and project plan. May follow up with team members to ensure project deadlines are met as instructed by the team lead. Participates in resolution of issues with the team.
  • Communicates status and issues to the team lead as required. Ensures on-time and quality delivery for assigned menu requests. Conducts peer reviews. Writes complex SQL queries and scripts.
  • Deploys menu updates, software updates and setting changes, including release notes and documentation. Reviews release timing to minimize technical conflicts and ensure timely resolution to customers.
  • Assign PLUs (Price look-up codes) as needed and maintain a repository of current and former PLUs as a master reference. Along with PLUs, routinely monitor, track and correct any anomalies in data integrity.
  • Provides fourth-tier support for menu-related issues including knowledge of POS settings, download distribution and underlying processes. Provides after-hours support as required on a 24/7 rotational basis.
  • Keeps up to date on hardware and software offerings and upgrades to ensure efficient resolution of escalated issues.
  • Provides functional & technical guidance and support to more junior team members. Provides performance feedback to the team lead.
  • Engages in upgrading knowledge and skills in current and emerging technologies, SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, etc. through the use of self-teaching options such as on the job training for proprietary offerings, through researching manuals, participating in software communities, or using other online options, and through the use of more formal options such as in-class sessions, webinars or formal institutional learning

Qualifications:

  • Requires a college certificate or University Degree. Minimum 5 years of work experience in QSR menu management.
  • Experience on Point-of-Sale systems, UI/UX is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Advanced knowledge of SQL including stored procedures, functions, complex joins, transactions, etc. Knowledge and experience of managing content on websites and desktop applications.
  • Knowledge and experience on UI/UX are an asset. Experience with JIRA/Azure DevOps, project tracking tools, POS Hardware, and Networking.
  • Majority of work performed is completed in accordance with well-defined specification checklist. Regular trouble shooting and problem solving is needed to analyze and resolve bugs.

Job description: Overview:Administers all aspects of the cash application function. Ensuring timely and accurate posting of payments and internal A/R Adjustments.   • Where applicable prepares/submits reconciliations of accounts receivable balances along with associated support documentation, and adjusting journal entries to Accounts Receivable management for approval.
  • Ensures proper saving/ storage of all relevant source documentation for audit purposes and that which is used by the Corporate Credit Coordinator for daily balancing. Posts and saves for audit purposes ongoing recurring and approved A/R adjustments submitted through perfect forms. In the absence of the Corp Credit Coordinator reconciles, prepares, and distributes relevant Daily Balancing report from SAP to all internally concerned parties.
  • Processes credit card payments for customers, employee purchases or regularly recurring monthly customer charges as required.
  • Safely stores and secures postdated cheques received and to be deposited later.
  • Cross trains with other Accounts Receivable staff in order to assist with workload, or to fill in as needed in the event of absence.
  • Assists Accounts Receivable management with special projects and month end closing as required. Maintains the usage and security of the department credit card terminal and safely secures/ stores postdated or undeposited cheques.

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduation with two to three years office experience. An acceptable equivalent would be a one-year Community College certificate or diploma in accounting, and minimal work experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Problem solving is routine where the procedures conform to well defined company polices. Reconciliations, and journal entries require selecting a solution from clear alternatives.

Coordinates and responsible for PCI’s Payroll accounting administration.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and functional guidance to the payroll function as required. Assumes the role of the window person for PCI payroll accounting, collaborating with PNA, external (CRA, Service Canada, Service Ontario) and internal stakeholders as needed. Reviews and approves year end returns for T4s, Releve 1s, EHT and WSIB.
  • Coordinates the generation of biweekly, monthly, annual, and ad hoc accounting chargeback or other output reports and follows up with PEXNA payroll on discrepancies. Prepares biweekly payroll and SunLife funding documentation and resolves discrepancies. Processes monthly ADP service charges by company code. Oversees the year end processing for PCI’s Japan Expatriates.
  • Reconciles and prepares adjustments for PIER reporting as required. Oversees the production of T2200, TP64 and GST year end forms. Keeps up to date on legislative changes or other payroll trends. Participates in team resolution of issues.
  • Mentors, guides, coaches’ staff and ensures staff development that is consistent with the company objectives. Ensures continuity of function by cross-training staff as required. Participates in hiring, dismissal, performance evaluation, and the resolution of other staff issues. Establishes priorities, as re-assigns staff as required. Ensures adherence to corporate employment equity objectives.
  • Recommends and implements continuous process improvements and procedures by re-engineering them to ensure they meet with changing business environment to obtain maximum efficiency and lowest cost to the organization.
  • Leads testing, implementation and documentation activities on new projects as assigned by senior management. Identifies areas of risk, recommends appropriate action to ensure smooth and successful implementation of projects. Prepares training materials and delivers training to users as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • BS or BA degree with accounting specialization, CA or CGA/CMA preferred, with 7 to 10 years previous related work and supervisory experience. Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) from the National Payroll Institute.
  • Extensive experience with Excel – understand and create macros, multiple complex spreadsheets. 4+ years’ experience using SAP FI/GL and AP modules. General working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word programs.
  • Occasionally requires strong project management, organizational skills, problem solving skills and critical thinking skills. Attention to detail balanced with broad long-term perspective of unit functions.
  • Requires sound knowledge, and effective research capabilities relating to financial accounting and GAAP principles. Majority of work performed requires review and approval of staff submissions where clear alternatives, accepted accounting practices and procedures exist.
  • More complex problem-solving capabilities are required for macro level reconciliation functions and in special project involvement where areas of risk need to be identified, evaluated and appropriate corrective action is recommended to management, and the recommendation of changes to policy and procedures.
  • Majority of work performed requires the exchanging of information and establishing and maintaining an effective rapport with cost center and other management representatives.
  • Responsibilities associated with budgets, special projects require a refined degree of written and verbal capabilities to articulate information, identify areas of conflict/change and ability to appropriately influence staff and management to accept appropriate resolutions.
