Job description: Job Category: EngineeringJob Description:WSP is currently seeking a Systems Requirements Engineer to join our Rail Systems Engineering team at a GTA office. Supporting the planning and execution of systems requirements activities for a major urban rail extension project, involving the complex interface of new-build systems infrastructure with existing operational transit lines. Reporting to the Manager/Director, you will work collaboratively with a team of Chief Engineers and Specialists across rail & transit Project Managers, Systems Engineers, Signals Engineers, Analysts, and Coordinators.As a member of the Rail & Transit team, you will be given opportunities to use your transferable skills to define processes, create execution plans, and be the technical lead for some projects.You will be supported by management to develop work plans and professional skills to become a strong leader in the consulting environment.Why choose WSP?

- Responsible for administering requirements repository in IBM DOORS NG, maintaining configuration control, and ensuring synchronization with external systems and design activities to support design compliance, traceability, and alignment across all project teams and design activities
- Contribute to Requirements Analysis, Decomposition, Traceability, and appropriate allocation of Requirements to responsible design teams.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the project requirements as they relate to the EJV & CJV scope, cost, and schedule
- Ensuring changes to the Project Agreement and all associated documentation are captured and referenced in DOORS NG in line with the Change Management process
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a systems, electrical, or related engineering discipline from an accredited University
- Registered P.Eng. License in Ontario
- INCOSE Certification such as ASEP or CSEP would be an asset
- Training and proficient understanding of the V- Models and systems engineering
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in transit or safety-critical industry or related engineering field is preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Systems Engineering domain is preferred
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Systems Engineering process and principles
- Proven ability to work successfully in multi-disciplinary teams and across different business units. Experience in different Phases of the Engineering Design Life Cycle, V-model. Understanding of Requirements Management (RM) and usage of RM tools such as DOORS NG. Basic knowledge of civil, structural, track, mechanical and electrical design for railway construction is preferred
- Familiarity with signalling, SCADA, Communications, Traction Power Design, and Overhead Catenary Systems is an asset
- Familiarity with Metrolinx Design Standards and Design Manuals is an asset
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio
- Fluent communication skills, presentation skills, and report writing skills
