  • The position of Intern Project Coordinator will be a junior contributing role to assist Project Managers or Senior Technical Leads in the execution of periodic reactor inspection programs, major nuclear refurbishment projects, or new-nuclear projects. The successful candidate will join a mature team of project and engineering personnel and will be assigned tasks in the areas of engineering, engineering administration and/or project administration.
  • The employee will be required to obtain security clearance for Candu Energy Inc. facilities and possibly for our customer sites. This activity typically requires extended time for someone who is not a citizen of Canada, so Canadian citizenship is an advantage.
  • The employee may be assigned to short-term field service assignments on Candu Field Services projects, typically during customers’ outages and at their sites. During these assignments, the employee may be requested to perform work in a radiological work environment such as set-up and operation activities of certain tooling. In this event, the employee will be required to Nuclear Energy Worker qualified and trained to Candu Energy’s RP program as “Group 3” worker and with our customer’s onboarding process, as well as receiving practical training related to the project. Physical fitness and hands-on experience with tools and equipment will be an advantage.
  • The employee will be expected to perform tasks and activities commensurate with their level of experience and familiarity with the technology, while supervised by more senior engineering (and EIT) staff. Responsibilities will include activities such as:
  • Organizing, hosting, minuting regular project and/or customer meetings for senior staff.
  • Collecting data and status for the purpose of regular schedule updates.
  • Updating project Key Performance Indexes.
  • Maintaining a running log of project lessons learned.
  • Minor document revisions, including learning to navigate the various SNC-Lavalin / Candu administrative systems (e.g. Proact and Mytrak, Aconex).
  • Performing any other administrative or analytical review or investigation as directed.
  • Self-study of the requisite quality procedures required to perform typical engineering and/or project administration tasks.
