We’re looking for our next HR Social Media & Communications Specialist. Could It Be You?

The HR Social Media & Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the online representation of Questrade Financial Group’s (QFG) externally as it relates to our Talent Attraction Strategy. Working closely with our Marketing department in executing the Employer Brand strategy in addition to internal communications as it relates to our culture and employee engagement. This role will report into the People & Culture team with a dotted line into Marketing.
This position will increase employer brand awareness Nationally and Globally to attract Top Talent, increase awareness for early development (interns/new grads), Tech talent and attract talent for all areas of our business. Working in partnership with QFG’s Marketing team and People and Culture (P&C) they will ensure alignment across the business strategy, QFG’s Talent Strategy and Marketing strategy. They will explore and build a strong supporting network to communicate specialized job vacancies into the appropriate niche presence in online media.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Develop and implement a Talent Acquisition social media strategy, which is aligned with QFG’s brand strategy
  • Create content for social media channels to promote QFG’s Employer Brand
  • Work with key internal stakeholders to brainstorm content ideas, in line with QFG’s Brand & Talent Attraction strategy
  • Engages the organization into the social media communications
  • Measures social media performance in relation to Talent Acquisition
  • Support and evaluates results of social media campaigns with the Marketing and P&C team
  • Adheres to QFG’s brand style guide, ensuring that we produce a high-quality and error-free copy
  • Promote QFG’s employer value proposition through social channels
  • Create and manage a content calendar and provide talent branding strategies
  • Work with the marketing team to leverage best practices, cross-promote, and streamline QFG’s initiatives from both the client and employer perspective
  • Continuously research social media for emerging trends and best practices; make recommendations to improve our employer brand social position
  • Manages external employer branding profiles to keep them updated, accurate, and engaging
  • Monitors and respond to external comments related to the employer brand, summarize key themes and share feedback with department leaders
  • Work closely with marketing to implement changes to the careers page, as needed
  • Supports internal communications using robust content and a variety of methods (emails, video, Google Site, print, etc.) to increase engagement and support our culture

Job Description

Points is looking for a Senior Manager, Growth Marketing to join our Marketing team for a permanent position, based out of our downtown Toronto office. The Performance Marketing team is responsible for all paid media buying/planning and marketing activity on multiple worldwide Travel Loyalty Partner accounts supporting Points primary products.

You will be working closely with Marketing groups, including Partner Marketing, Data and Analytics, and Brand & Creative teams to maximize worldwide media campaign performance of approximately 20 different Points’ loyalty product clients on their behalf.

In this growth-focused role, you will be responsible for developing advanced media channel and targeting strategies to drive revenue growth and product penetration across all Partner portfolios. You will be responsible for leading a team of media planners in campaign budgeting management & forecasting, media innovation and personalization, campaign execution & optimization, and vendor relationships.

Reporting to the Director of Performance Marketing, the responsibilities of the role include:

  • Ownership of select high-value or strategic Performance Marketing accounts, including media strategy, budgets, targeting and channel execution
  • Evolving the Performance Marketing media practice to always-on media, driving awareness and first-time buyers beyond immediate promotion performance
  • Leading the team with individual Partner development of annual Performance Marketing budget/revenue plans, working with Finance and Growth teams on forecasting and reporting
  • Driving media innovation & implementation of new/enhanced Performance Marketing channels, vendor or Points product opportunities, including budgeting, setup and test & measurement plans.
  • Lead the team in ongoing media optimization activity to regularly increase campaign revenue and improve Performance Marketing campaign budget efficiency. Share key wins and insights across Marketing team and support of a continuous improvement culture
  • Accountability to internal Partner team stakeholders to ensure Performance Marketing team campaigns are delivered on time with high quality, and campaign performance targets are met or exceeded.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Paid and owned digital media planning across multiple digital channels, including display programmatic, social, and video (5+ years)
  • Proven experience leading client media performance to consistently meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets while managing significant budgets
  • Significant Digital Marketing experience including branding, awareness and engagement driving campaigns. Hands-on experience with dynamic creative optimization campaigns is also desired.
  • A strong track record of success leveraging first and third-party data to drive media targeting, engagement and performance
  • Strong leadership and team management ability
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • University or College degree in Business or Marketing preferred

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent verbal & communication skills are a must. You can lead a client presentation with ease, speaking confidently and convincingly.
  • 3-5 years experience with in-depth understanding of Facebook, Facebook Ads Manager, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn and beyond.
  • Experience using social media planning, listening & monitoring tools like Hootsuite, Later, Sprout Social, Buffer, Planoly, etc. Comfortability with social media reporting and able to recommend preferred platforms and implement new processes.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. You have the ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize projects accordingly
