Job description: Senior Telecommunications Analyst, Bilingual – Contract – 18245About the OpportunityOur Public Sector Client is seeking a bilingual Senior Telecommunications Analyst to support a Change Management Process. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong experience in IT/IS change management and a solid understanding of IT infrastructure within a federal government environment. The role is based in Ottawa and requires a high level of collaboration with internal DND units to ensure accurate documentation and assessment of changes to digital infrastructure in support of RCAF operations.Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist strategic level staff and management with administration and coordination of Requests for Change (RFC) including any and all changes to controlled digital infrastructure (ie. Additions to or movement of IT assets) and related Impact Assessments (IA) which outline potential changes request by organizations that might have an impact on used applications, networks, or other digital infrastructure
- Review RFCs and IAs submitted by RCAF units for compliancy with Departmental Change Management (CM) standards and policies
- Review ‘Units’ submitted CM supporting documentation for consistency with policies and procedures, to include technical notes, briefing materials, concept of operations and technical documentation
- Coordinate CM activities including, scheduling and managing of CM activities leading to Departmental review and eventual approval
- Coordinate and track all applicable RFCs and IA activity that requires additional review to ensure that they are properly addressed in a timely manner
- Leverage existing Departmental organizations and CM clients, as required to: research, develop and provide advice and recommendations on the development and enhancement of policies and procedures
- Anticipate trends and forecast CM requests in support operational and support requirements based upon provided schedules and planning documentation
- Provide hands-on and/or remote based assistance to Users on the Departmental and CM internally developed web-based tools
- Review existing CM and IA work processes and provide assessment as to their efficiency and effectiveness to meet current and emerging developments
- Assist Strategic level management, on an as required basis, as a representative or participant at CM and RFC related work groups, meetings, conferences held within Canada
About YouThe successful candidate will have the following:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in IT/IS change management tracking within the last 5 years
- Experience working in a federal government or military environment is considered a strong asset
- Strong understanding of IT topology and interdependent systems
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite and internal tracking tools
- Bilingual (English and French): Intermediate proficiency in oral, comprehension, and written communication
- Valid Government of Canada Secret Clearance is required
