What is the opportunity?
RBC Ventures is hiring a Digital Creative Designer to join one of our ventures to develop marketing assets, and generate creative digital solutions across marketing and product. This person will join a scaling venture in a fast-paced environment, and will work directly with the venture’s marketing and product teams. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, and has strong time management skills.
What will you do?
- Design marketing assets, including websites, social media campaigns, digital publications, videos and animations, out-of-home, and other online and offline marketing material
- Leverage existing brand guidelines to prepare and deliver assets
- Work closely with the product and marketing teams to ensure that brand specifications are implemented accurately
- Generate innovative design solutions that effectively meet venture needs
- Participate in and initiate design review sessions with key stakeholders, gaining consensus and approval on design artifacts
- Rationalize solutions and effectively communicate ideas and designs
- Take feedback, iterate quickly, and continue to strive for best results
- Work with designers, production artists, writers, developers, and others to execute campaigns and digital solutions
- Modify existing or previously created graphics with new/updated information based on new findings, research and trends
Must Haves
- 3+ years of experience working in digital and marketing agencies or creative teams where paid and organic marketing strategies were the priority
- BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial) or a related field or equivalent experience
- Strong aesthetic skills and an understanding of graphic design core principles with respect to typography, layout/composition, photography, iconography, etc.
- A portfolio of web design, marketing design, and production design
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Figma, or similar tools
- Ability to communicate and present ideas and rationales
Nice-to-have:
- Experience and success working in corporate environments
- Experience working in start-up environments
- Product design experience
- Experience in video production and editing
- Knowledge and/or experience in rapid product development / agile process
